Eleven Springs
The first time this Spring we finally could do manicuring at the crash site recently, was quite welcome. After a wet February and March, some days of pleasant weather to dry things out afforded us occasion to visit this ten year memorial site to spend some time weeding through the red rocks around the succulents. These succulents made their debut the summer after our Campfire in Nov 2018. We had abundant rainfall in 2019, which may have contributed to this ‘new’ succulent which came up among the small red rocks. We’ve kept them watered during the hot dry summer days year after year, and it has multiplied to what we have today.
{Note the pictures.}
Spring is such a beautiful time of year, with flowers and
trees blooming and turning a fresh green. Gardens being
planted with the hope of a fruitful harvest. It picks our
spirits up, for it is a sign of new life. Eleven Springs have
we come out to this site to clear a path and weed eat
around the cross, when everything is green. It’s become
part of our tradition over the last decade, as well as a
testament to our loss—to keep Brianna’s memory alive.
The years seem to accelerate with time. Though we live in
a world with much uncertainty and increasing loneliness,
there is good news. God provides security and stability in
spite of it. He invites us to behold His works in nature. He is a lover of the beautiful, as expressed in the natural world--with new plant life abundant everywhere, with green fields and trees covered with leaves—how can we not express thanksgiving to God for his sufficient provisions to us.
Soon, in this part of the world, the green fields will give way to the golden hills of California as the days continue to warm. And the cycle will continue~ summer and winter, seedtime and harvest, until the time shall come when the heavenly Sower will return to reap the harvest of the seed sown in the hearts of men. Oh what a harvest it will be, to see the fruit of our labors…when we will be reunited with our loved ones who have been separated from us.
Spend some time out in nature, it will do you good. May we learn to trust the hand of Him who is good all the time, for He only has good in store for us. I trust these pictures are a blessing to you.
